PLOT
- Director Ed Hunt built the whole premise off an astrology article about the 20-year curse on U.S. presidents who died in office. His twist: a solar eclipse blots out Saturn, the planet the movie treats as the seat of how a person treats other people, so the three kids are born missing a conscience.
- It carried the working title 'Creeps' during production, which kicked off in May 1980, and was shot under the title 'Happy Birthday.'
- The kids don't kill at random — they bludgeon their schoolteacher Mrs. Davis for refusing them a day off, and Debbie murders her own teenage sister Beverly, putting an arrow straight through the closet peephole she'd been charging quarters to spy through.
- Billy Jacoby, who plays the cold-eyed Curtis, was born Billy Jayne and comes from a full acting clan — half-brother Scott Jacoby and full sibling Robert 'Bobby' Jayne both worked in the business, and they're grandsons of character actor Lou Jacobi.
- Julie Brown — later the 'Earth Girls Are Easy' and MTV 'Just Say Julie' personality — plays older sister Beverly, whose extended undress scene the kids charge quarters to spy on through a peephole.
- Despite a 1980 shoot, the film didn't surface until a limited theatrical run via Rearguard in 1981, then slowly built its cult on a 1986 Prism Entertainment VHS release.
