Suat and Nurcan's poisoned marriage mirrors the dynamics of a destructive attachment: the djinn isolates its host from everyone trying to intervene, feeds on the bond it infects, and refuses to leave precisely because it's wanted things from this family for a long time. The title itself — 'musallat,' the state of being latched onto — frames possession less as invasion and more as a relationship that won't let go.

Suat leaves his new bride Nurcan behind in Turkey and heads to Berlin with his childhood friend Metin to earn money for the life they're supposed to build. Then the visions start — dark shapes in the apartment, lost time, a pull toward the ledge that nearly kills him. German doctors find nothing wrong. Back in Istanbul, a spiritual healer named Haci Burhan Kasavi confirms the worst: a djinn has attached itself to Suat, and it isn't random. There's a blood debt buried in the past, and the thing collecting on it has been waiting a long time. What follows is a slow erosion of love, faith, and sanity as Suat learns that some attachments outlast every prayer and every ritual.
