The village of Viran Nagar's terror at the sight of Kumar isn't superstition dressed up as suspense — it reads as collective guilt. The community knows what happened to Sunil and stayed silent; Kumar's return isn't a haunting, it's an accounting.

Kumar's amnesia does double duty as plot device and metaphor: he's a man reconstructing an identity that was violently taken from him, and the film's literal twin makes the 'who am I really' question uncomfortably concrete instead of just spooky.

Sarkar Nath's plan only works because he treats the brothers as interchangeable — his fatal miscalculation, killing the wrong twin, is arguably the film's real point: the people trying to erase Kumar never saw him as a person to begin with, just an obstacle.

Ravindra Dave's mystery peels back the truth in layers: Kumar has a twin brother, Sunil, who was murdered and buried by Sapna's vengeful uncle Sarkar Nath after an attack that left Kumar amnesiac and scarred — Sarkar Nath meant to kill Kumar for loving Sapna, attacked the wrong brother, and buried the mistake. Rajesh Khanna plays both twins as Kumar claws his way back to his own identity, the truth, and Sapna.
