• The film landed on Britain's video nasties list under the Obscene Publications Act after its 1983 video release; a version with cuts finally reached UK shelves in 1999, but a truly uncut release didn't arrive until 2003.

Argento stages the carnage with surgical precision, then drags the camera through a stunning unbroken tracking shot up and around a house, daring you to look away. The finale reveals a second killer hiding inside the story's hero, and closes on a spray of blood exploding across a stark white wall.
