• Shot on a roughly $2 million budget, Levinson assembled the found-footage narrative from more than 20 consumer-grade devices — iPhones, Androids, webcams, and point-and-shoot cameras. For the Fourth of July crowd scenes, the crew was too small to cover the footage the director wanted, so cameras were handed out to extras as well as principal cast.
