The king who issues the hunter's contracts is the real monster. The beasts the hunter kills are the kingdom's oppressed indigenous creatures, and the daughter's death was engineered to ensure he'd never stop hunting—making him an unwitting agent of ecological genocide.

A battle-scarred bounty hunter works a lonely gig out of a stone hovel in the middle of nowhere, nailing severed monster heads to his walls while he waits on the one contract that matters: the creature that killed his daughter. He brews healing elixirs, sharpens his gear, and takes jobs from a distant king every time the hunting horn sounds. When the beast that orphaned him finally turns up, he tracks it down and takes its head clean off in a brutal fight — but back home, a spilled jar of his own elixir brings the severed head back to life. The trophy wall isn't just decoration anymore. Something on it wants a new body, and it's got its eye on his.
