PLOT
- The screenplay was co-written by a young Carlos Enrique Taboada, who would go on to become one of Mexican horror's most acclaimed directors (Poison for the Fairies, Blacker Than the Night) — this was one of his earliest genre credits.
- Cinematographer Jorge Stahl Jr. built the film's gothic dread almost entirely out of deep shadow and stark, otherworldly lighting rather than elaborate sets.
- The film was produced under Abel Salazar's Cinematográfica ABSA banner, the same outfit behind a run of seven Mexican horror features released between 1957 and 1963.
- Sources disagree on the release year (1960 vs. 1962) because the film was actually shot around 1960 but didn't see wide theatrical release until 1962.
- The film later crossed into the U.S. via an English dub distributed by K. Gordon Murray, a key importer of Mexican horror for the American drive-in circuit.
