• The film's producing team of comic actor Alvy Moore (who also starred as Dr. Ralph Hayes) and character actor L.Q. Jones went on to co-produce two more cult horror titles together: 'The Brotherhood of Satan' (1970) and 'A Boy and His Dog' (1975).
• Alvy Moore was best known as bumbling farm agent Hank Kimball on the sitcom 'Green Acres' — here he plays the straight-laced parapsychologist role completely straight, without a trace of his TV comic persona.
• Writer-director William O. Brown's only other film credit was the 1965 comedy 'One Way Wahine,' also starring Anthony Eisley.
• Exteriors were shot on location in the Louisiana bayou around Marksville, giving the film its swampy, low-budget gothic look.
• The film has circulated under several different titles over the decades, including 'The Legend of Witch Hollow,' 'The Witchmaster,' 'Witchkill' (on VHS), and a 1975 reissue retitled 'The Naked Witch.'

Jessie's demand for fresh blood to restore her youth turns the film's real horror into a generational one: young women (and eventually Tasha) are consumed to keep an older power young and intact, with the satanic trappings mostly window dressing on that exploitation.

Victor's last-second swap of pig's blood for human blood at the climax undercuts the supernatural stakes right when they should peak, suggesting the more grounded threat all along was Luther's very human manipulation of a vulnerable young woman rather than Jessie's centuries-old curse.

A parapsychology professor and his research team head into the Louisiana bayou to investigate a string of ritual murders — young women drained of blood and marked with satanic symbols. The trail leads to Luther, a warlock bound by a pact with the Devil, who's using the killings to summon Jessie, a witch pushing 200 years old who needs fresh blood to claw back her youth. Luther sets his sights on Tasha, a student whose own grandmother was a real witch, grooming her as Jessie's new vessel — and when the professor and a magazine writer try to intervene, the ceremony turns deadly, forcing a last-second blood swap to stand between an ancient curse and a fresh body count. It's swamp-gothic exploitation over psychological dread — pentagrams, a devil's bargain, and a body count instead of subtlety.
